Online, Corey Harrison, also known as "Big Hoss" on the popular History Channel's Pawn Stars was arrested on Sunday for obstruction and battery for allegedly starting a fight in a bar in Big Bear, California. According to the Sheriff's Department, Harrison was having a heated argument with another bar patron.

According to reports, Harrison was intoxicated and arguing when a security guard felt that an imminent fight was about to start. There was a deputy that arrived and when confronted, Harrison allegedly pushed both deputy and security guard which led to his arrest.

The pawn star was released the next day after being cited. A spokesperson said that Harrison was very apologetic and very cooperative.

The History Channel hasn't commented on the arrest.

James Rosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07799060552780049147bossjamesross@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959874351679197470.post-22128858264708983282011-03-20T20:27:00.000-07:002011-03-20T20:37:17.481-07:002011-03-20T20:37:17.481-07:00How Close Do You Live to a Nuclear Power Plant? If there was a nuclear disaster here in the United States, knowing how far you live to the nearest one may save your life.
The U.S. is keeping it's word that if Qaddafi continued to fire upon his people and mobilize his military, there would be consequences.

"I believe we should not stand aside while this dictator murders his own people," said England's Prime Minister David Cameron.

A U.S. official said that since Qaddafi has failed to adhere to the law imposed by the United Nations and President Obama, they had no choice but to resort to military measures.
Is U.S. Next?On Friday, President Obama issued a statement confirming the U.S. support for a no-flight zone over Libya, that the United Nations implemented the day before. The president also spoke to Colonel Qaddafi, saying that the Libyan military will implement a cease-fire immediately; they will not continue killing it's own citizens; Libya will allow foreign nations aid the wounded from the military attacks. He said if Qaddafi failed to comply to these terms, there would be consequences.

"Let me be clear, these terms are not negotiable," said Obama.

President Obama said the United States, France, Europe and allies will enforce the restrictions on Libya, but France will be leading the way. The president said he may send in Air Force jets because they do lead the world in fighter jets and drone planes but will not put troops in Libya.

According to the NY Times, France's president, Nicolas Sarkozy, said their air force has already been sent to enforce the no-flight zone. The French military has confirmed engaging and destroying a Libyan military vehicle.

After the announcement, Qaddafi said that a cease-fire has been implemented but quickly retracted his statement and warned the U.S. and it's allies not to enforce no-flight zone. NY Times reported the Libyan army setting up groundwork to set up a potential strike.

On Saturday, March 19, a fighter jet was shot down over Libya. CNN reports the jet belonged to opposition forces. The fighter jet is one of few that rebels were able to acquire and repair. Rebels say that Qaddafi is blatantly using force as if he wants a war to begin.
This all occurred at Thomson Elementary School in Washington D.C. Teachers called an ambulance after the children began showing symptoms after snorting and ingesting the drug.

Officials are not sure where the fourth-grader was able to obtain the cocaine but it is reported that the students are feeling better.

This type of incident has never happened at the elementary school before and a father of a student who attends there was shocked. Counselors have prepared to bring this issue up to the entire school, in hopes to educate and prevent this situation from happening again.

The president and first lady settled for Sidwell Friends School.
Drug use seems to be becoming a more and more casual topic influencing kids of all ages. TV shows, like MTV's Jersey Shore and Skins are showing more people abusing drugs and alcohol, glorifying this behavior and showing that its fun. Its sad that hearing this news isn't extremely shocking because you hear about it everyday.

COMMENT! Do you think that TV shows are influencing today's youth in experimenting in drugs? Where do you think the fourth-grader was able to obtain the cocaine? Should the school be held responsible for not supervising the students?
It shows a group of kids circling a heavier set kid. The bullies are calling the boy names, and one actually throws several punches, landing on the victims face. The victim, who probably has been picked on for a while for his weight, is finally tired of the abuse and takes the problem in his own hands, literally.

The victim picks up one of the bullies and slams him down to the concrete. The boy gets up, very effected by the blow and staggers off. Both boys have allegedly been suspended from school.

If you want to see the video... <ui> <ii> ClICK HERE Viewer Discretion is Advised (Video is likely to be taken down because it violates YouTube's terms of service)

According to KFI 640, there are some people out there saying that the person at fault for the events is the victim, and that he had taken it too far.

In my opinion, the victim did nothing wrong at all. He was being picked on and he defended himself. After he knocked the bully to the ground, he didnt continue punching or kicking him; he just walked away. He did what he felt he had to do in order to defend himself.

More people now-a-days tell their children that violence is never an option, that the best thing to do is to tell an adult. I believe that a parent should give their children full permission to defend themselves. If a parent is constantly intervening, it can make bullying worse for the victim. It doesn't empower the victim, only the bully.

If a victim that is getting bullied fights back, bullies are less likely to come back to him/her because they know it isn't easy and really, ALL BULLIES ARE ACTUALLY COWARDS. They prey on others to hide their own insecurities.

So whatever happens to this student that defended himself, I say that I 100% support his actions and that more people need to step up.

COMMENT! What do you think? Did the victim take it too far or not far enough? Should he be punished with the bully or be allowed to continue school?</ii></ui>
Emergency officials put a no-entry zone radius of two and a half miles. Luckily, there are no reports of deaths, injuries or damage. Ashes from the volcano traveled 110 miles away
Upon liftoff from Mexico City to Los Angeles, the three businessmen began saying a prayer out loud in Hebrew, which no one on board recognized. This brought concern to the flight attendants. It was mentioned by the attendants that the men had straps tied to their bodies with what appeared to be boxes underneath their shirts. These boxes and leather straps turned out to be tefflillin, customary in Jewish prayers during the weekday. Each box holds a piece of scripture from the Torah.

After being met by law enforcement, FBI and Border Patrol Agents, and their items searched, the three men were released without any incident because there was never any threat to passengers or the aircraft. It was reported that the three men were very cooperative.

I can already see it now... people trying to ban prayer in airplanes or in public. Do you think that there should be restriction of speech on airplanes? Even though this scared people who were not familiar with the language, there was no legal "clear and present danger". It is illegal to say bomb or fire on a plane if there isn't one because that draws fear and panic, but what if it wasn't intentional? Should it still be restricted?
During the interview, he received word that another nuclear plant had exploded in Fukushima and that raised concerns for Anderson and his team since they were 100 kilometers north of the plant explosion. Mid-way through the interview, Cooper stopped Walsh and asked him, "Should I get out of here?" Nuclear expert Walsh reassured Cooper by saying that they should be safe since the wind in Japan was blowing west.
After airing his show Friday night, "Anderson Cooper 360", Cooper left for Japan and began reporting on the events unfolding Sunday. This video is an amazing look from a first person's perspective. It's amazing how in a span of six minutes, a town in Japan, turns into a nightmare with 13 foot waves tossing around cars as if they were matchbox cars. It is so hard to imagine how in such a little time, everything is literally washed away. The feeling of helplessness is terrifying as someone watches the town they lived in virtually disappear.
As of January 2011, unemployment is 12.7% and this is what the Californian based group has an issue with. According to FOX News, the amount of legal immigrants entering the United States hasn't changed since the recession began and California is receiving $40 million dollars a day from the federal government to pay unemployment benefits. The chairman of Californians for Population Stabilization, Marilyn DeYoung, says that the government needs to limit the amount of legal immigrants coming into California because Californians should have first dibs and as soon as the unemployment rate drops, then the limit should be taken away.

"Of course people who have a degree from Sri Lanka would like to come here because they get the experience and they get much better wages," DeYoung told Fox News, "but the employer is paying half of what they would an American worker. And Mr. Sri Lanka doesn't come alone. He comes in and brings his parents, his grandparents, his children. It's chain migration, it's not just him."

However, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles strongly disagrees with the CPFS. Angelica Salas, the coalitions director told FoxNews.com, "Many of these organizations have said their only problem was with illegal immigration. What they're now showing infact is they also have a problem with legal immigration." She went on to say that the government should instead fully integrate and support immigrants so that they can be able to contribute to the economy like every other worker.

COMMENT! What do you think about this issue? Should the government put a limit on how many legal immigrants enter and work in California? Do you think a limit would help or hurt California's economy?

James Rosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07799060552780049147bossjamesross@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959874351679197470.post-84604483297846996952011-03-11T11:06:00.000-08:002011-03-11T11:09:35.586-08:002011-03-11T11:09:35.586-08:00Video of when earthquake hit Japan

James Rosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07799060552780049147bossjamesross@gmail.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959874351679197470.post-59531997080260460942011-03-11T10:35:00.001-08:002011-03-11T11:02:24.781-08:002011-03-11T11:02:24.781-08:00Shocking video - earthquake, tsunami hit Japan
<ui> <ii> CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO
The pollution, created by the dumping of garbage into the ocean, is concentrated and is kept together by the northern pacific gyre. A gyre is a large system of rotating currents and is caused by the Coriolis effect.

Efforts to clean up the garbage patch are said to be futile. There is no simple solution to this problem, but with hopes of recycling becoming more popular, there is hope to reduce the drastic growth of the problem. <ui> <ii> Click Here for more information.</ii></ui>
The woman's friend notified a flight attendant, who then notified two U.S. air marshals. When the Marshals approached the man and asked him to go towards the back of the plane to question him, the man became hostel. Without warning, the man karate-chopped a marshal and proceeded to try to choke him. Marshals were able to put the man in a choke hold, place him in handcuffs and strap him into a real galley jump seat.

Law enforcement awaited for the plane to taxi and the man was taken into custody. The man is accused of assault and interfering with a federal air marshal. His lawyer has declined to comment on the incident to CNN.

Now I don't have an airline as crazy as this one but definitely a runner-up. About 15 years ago, my family and I were either going to or coming from Hawaii for vacation. I remember the flight being a rather quiet one until I look over my shoulder and see two women looking at, what I believe were photographs. When all of a sudden a woman from behind them snatched them up yelling that the pictures were her's. She then ran to the bathroom and allegedly tried to flush the photos down the toilet without success. I can't say what happened to her afterwards but it is the craziest airline story I have.

Brown's budget has students shouting NO!According to the Los Angeles Times, Governor Jerry Brown announced his budget plan to help California's economy by cutting $12 billion from education and public safety departments. One local community college's professors and students are expressing themselves the best way they know how...through YouTube. In the video, math instructor Leonard Crow and Administrative Assistant in the office of students activities Sonia Juarez talk about how the budget cuts would directly affect students there. <ui><ii>In the video, Crow and Juarez say that the budget cuts will cut $7 million dollars from Chaffey's budget which will close 600 classes and about 20,000 seats will be lost in classrooms. What they propose will help the education system in California is if a tax extension is given. </ii></ui>
I use my Motorola Droid LITERALLY the moment I wake up every morning. You don't need me to tell you how easy 'apps' have made everyday things easier. From helping you find a new restaurant, checking your bank account to counting your calories; 'app's do it all. 'Apps' are, of course, a great way to pass your free time, or, the time that you should be spending on something more important.

The following are my top 10 used 'apps' that I usually use on an everyday basis.

10.<ui> <ii> NFL Mobile: : I use this 'app' very often. It has up to the minute news all around the NFL. You can even watch game highlights minutes after it aired live during the game. Customized for my team, the Dallas Cowboys, it automatically puts their news at the top. The absolute number one feature that this 'app' does it LIVE game feed to the phone. Though, you cant watch every game live on the phone (so most likely it wont be your team thats available that week), it is always a match-up between the most anticipated game of the week. Great 'app' for true football fans.

9. <ui> <ii> Music Wizard : If you like downloading free music...enough said. There are some websites that say this 'app' is no longer available but all I will say is that I'm still enjoying this 'app'.

8. <ui> <ii> IMDB : Great 'app' for finding nearest theaters, showtimes, movie/television news and reviews. Features also include filmography.

7. <ui> <ii> Simply Cyanide : If you enjoy politically incorrect short comics, you're in the right place. With new comics released everyday, every single one always left me smiling at the ridiculously insane humor. A lot of fun browsing through.

6. <ui> <ii> LOL Sites : This 'app' is a huge time killer with a great number of categories of funny, crazy, awesome, and demotivational pics that will surely entertain.

5. <ui> <ii> Funny Pics : Need I explain? Funny Pics.

4. CNN/New York Times: I am a huge political/news nerd. Anything that is happening anywhere is so interesting to me. Plenty of sections to scroll through with many interesting stories.

3. <ui> <ii> Twitter : Shameless plug for my twitter account :)

Last two 'apps" need no explanation. I can safely assume that 100% of owners of an Android phone uses these 'apps'.
2. YouTube
1. Facebook
