March 1-3, 2011 Libya, Westboro Baptist Church, iPad 2

In Libya, anti-government protesters and rebel forces are continuing to be bombarded with by pro-government soldiers. Innocent civilians are continuing to be bombarded by air strikes called in by Gadafi. Westboro Baptist Church: 
According to the Huffington Post, The Supreme Court has ruled that the Westboro Baptist Church, infamously known for picketing the funerals of fallen U.S soldiers, while holding signs that say "God Bless I.E.D.s" and "Thank god for dead soldiers", is protected by the first amendment. The Baptist Church had been sued by the father of a fallen soldier for distress and verbal abuse but the case was dropped. Full Story

This story is a well known one and is a hot topic for many people. I feel that the majority of people believe that what the Westboro Baptist Church is doing is incredibly awful, cruel and insane. However, no matter how awful are the things that the followers of that church are doing to the families of fallen heroes, it is their right to do so. There have been plenty of times that I have walked past of group of individuals that are declaring something that I find awful, I have found the perfect solution for me to stop hearing them....walking away. 


I find it funny and sad when two groups of people begin arguing with each other in public because, and i want to make this clear, that no matter of what each side says to the other, the odds of people changing their opinion on the spot is very slim. It just becomes a shouting match till eventually someone is called to separate the groups at verbal war. 


So i suggest that when you are on campus, or the mall or the street corner and you see people preaching something that drives you nuts...walk away. They will have one less person to listen to them and there wont be any fuel added to their fire.

iPad 2:
The last time someone saw tablets this cool, Moses was holding two of them on Mt. Sinai. Yup, the new iPad 2 was released on March 2 with Steve Jobs showing the off the new features. Some of those new features include, cameras on dual sides which allows FaceTime and picture taking, thinner and lightweight. The amount of memory info wasn't released but many are saying that its probably the same as the original iPad at 256 megabytes. Critics are saying that that is such a disappointment, especially because competitors like the Motorola Xoom and the HP Touchpad both have 1 gigabyte of RAM.

Long story short, and I'm sure everyone else will be thinking this, is that Apple just rushed a new product with a new sticker and camera and said its the new top of the line item, when it really isnt. Right now i don't have any desire to get any type of tablet but if I were to get one, it wouldn't be an iPad thats for sure.
