Two hours after the law went into effect, two Muslim women in protest, were arrested for wearing burqas. The protesting women were arrested outside of Dame Cathedral in Paris for participating in a non-authorized protest and for wearing the religious attire.
State officials say they have a very good reason for implementing the new law. The Internal Ministry said, "The ban does not target the wearing of a headscarf, head gear, scarf or glasses, as long as the accessories do not prevent the person from being identified." Hijabs and chadors are still allowed to be worn because the face of women are not covered.

Do you think that a government should be stepping into a religion and prohibiting how they practice it?
Will this make things safer or cause more protests in France or around the world?
Do you think a law like this can come to America, inhibiting people their religion from Muslim, Christian or Hindu?
