Rutgers Students Angered at School & Jersey Shore's Snooki

Students are angry with Rutgers University's decision to have Snooki, or Nicole Polizzi, as a commencement speaker because of the hefty price tag and where the money came from.

According to Fox News, the university payed $32,000 for the appearance and what students found even more surprising was that the money to pay the reality star came out of student fees, not from the university or state funds.

Snooki's appearance price tag was actually higher than a Nobel-prize winning author. Current students and alma mater both began letting their feeling known on Twitter. 

One student tweeted, "As a RU student, I'm really ashamed." 

"My tuition dollars wasted on Snooki. Rutgers probably could have paid her with a case of beer," an alma mater also tweeted. 

Spokesman E.J. Miranda said that the school has two different programs for guest speakers, education and entertainment. He also said that students were the ones who actually voted to have Snooki come to the campus and entertain them. 

And what exactly was the key point in Snooki's speech to the students? "Study hard, and party harder." Of course...
