Gov. Brown's budget has students shouting NO!
According to the Los Angeles Times, Governor Jerry Brown announced his budget plan to help California's economy by cutting $12 billion from education and public safety departments. One local community college's professors and students are expressing themselves the best way they know how...through YouTube. In the video, math instructor Leonard Crow and Administrative Assistant in the office of students activities Sonia Juarez talk about how the budget cuts would directly affect students there. In the video, Crow and Juarez say that the budget cuts will cut $7 million dollars from Chaffey's budget which will close 600 classes and about 20,000 seats will be lost in classrooms. What they propose will help the education system in California is if a tax extension is given.
According to CA.gov, the only branch of education that wont be affected by the budget cuts are schools ranging between K-12. For the full budget plan click on Budget Plan .
