Stockton Man Dead After Officer Involved Shooting

KFBK - A man in Stockton was shot and killed after apparently confronting officers with a bayonet.

A man in Stockton was shot and killed after apparently confronting officers with a bayonet.
The incident began Saturday night when Stockton Police officers responded to a domestic violence call to a house on the 1500 block of Carpenter Road. That's when officers heard a woman screaming.

"So our officers had to go inside the house, once we got inside the suspect saw us and drug the female into a back room and we had to force entry," Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva said.

Silva says officers then detained 45-year-old parolee Donald Haynes. However, he fought with officers and managed to escape.

On Sunday morning, officers following up the incident saw Haynes in a vehicle, and that's when Silva says he came out with a 19.5-inch long bayonet. "Our officers are saying, "Drop the bayonet, drop the bayonet,' and the suspect did not. He continued to walk toward the officer, so the officer had to fire his weapon," Silva said.

Haynes was shot once and died of his injury at a local hospital. No officers were injured in the incident.

Trans-gender Woman Beaten At McDonald's

Two women in Baltimore were arrested and charged for 1st and 2nd degree assault on a trans-gender woman in a McDonald's. The whole attack was recorded by a person's camera phone on April 18th, but the real disgusting and awful thing was... the person filming was an employee of the McDonald's.

The video shows the two women, 18 and 14 years old, kicking, punching and dragging their victim, Chrissy Lee Polis, 22, on the floor by her hair. For a while, no one comes to help the girl being beaten on the floor and at times, you can actually hear employees laughing.

When a good citizen realized the victim was close to possible death, she intervened before she herself was punched in the face. Someone out of frame then tells the girls "Y'all need to go before the police come."

The video cuts off when the victim appears to have a seizure on the floor.

The two women were arrested shortly after and went before a judge. The 14-year-old will be charged as a juvenile and 18-year-old's bail was set for $150,000 but after seeing the evidence, the judge ordered there be no bail.

Polis told her story to The Baltimore Post and said the attack was definitely a hate crime. She said, "I knew they were taping me, I told the guy to stop," she continued, "They didn't help me, they didn't do anything for me." The franchise owner of McDonald's said he fired the employee who filmed the incident but didn't comment on the fate of the other employees who did nothing.

Human rights groups are saying the attacks were sparked because the victim was a trans-gender and therefore, the women arrested should be charged with a hate crime, which would add 10 years to their sentence if found guilty of 1st and 2nd degree assault.

Polis says she's looking into suing McDonald's for not doing the proper steps in keeping her safe during and after the attack.

Viewer Discretion Is Strongly Advised

Opinion:
Today, I believe that our culture is one where when something is happening, the first thing to do is to grab a camera and upload it as soon as possible online than to do the right thing; and that is made clear with this story.

Not only am I shocked about this story but for that no one helped and possibly the worst of all...a McDonald's employee took their phone out and just stood there watching the events unfold. Even when I thought it couldn't get any worse, you can begin to hear laughter in the background.
