(AP) A UC Santa Barbara student is behind bars after allegedly firing a gun and
having a mini-arsenal in his apartment.
Investigators say 21-year-old Kevin Tym
had been playing with his 9-millimeter Glock when it went off Tuesday, sending a
bullet through his neighbor's wall. Authorities found seven firearms, roughly a
thousand rounds of ammunition and high capacity assault rifle magazines during a
search of his apartment.
Tym's arrest comes in the wake of last Friday's Isla Vista massacre, in which 22-year-old Elliot Rodger went on a stabbing and shooting rampage that killed six people, and hurt 13 before turning a gun on himself.
