A high school algebra teacher in Houston Texas has been suspended for telling his Muslim student, "I heard about your uncle's death (referring to Osama bin Laden)... I bet you're grieving." The American-born girl was understandably distraught after hearing her teacher tell her that. Her name hasn't been released because her family doesn't want any retaliation.
One of the girl's classmates at Clear Brook High School told an ABC affiliate that her friend began crying over the teachers words later in the day. When the teacher asked the classmate why she was crying, she said it was because of what he said. His response was, "Oh, ok," as he "smirked, giggled and walked away."
Parents of the girl said their daughter was racially profiled. The school released a statement saying what the teacher said should not reflect the school or it's administrators. Also, the teacher was put on leave during their investigation.

Modesto Police say a 13-year-old girl stabbed two other girls, then herself early Saturday morning. The girls were taken to a nearby hospital and listed in critical condition. Officers arrived at the home on the 26-hundred block of E. Orangeburg Avenue around 1 AM after getting reports of multiple stabbing victims. Police found two 13-year-old girls and an 11-year old injured. A motive for the stabbings have not been released.
