Kid Getting Bullied Defends Self, But Did It Go Too Far?

This video straight out of Australia is spreading like wildfire. It shows a group of kids circling a heavier set kid. The bullies are calling the boy names, and one actually throws several punches, landing on the victims face. The victim, who probably has been picked on for a while for his weight, is finally tired of the abuse and takes the problem in his own hands, literally.

The victim picks up one of the bullies and slams him down to the concrete. The boy gets up, very effected by the blow and staggers off. Both boys have allegedly been suspended from school.

If you want to see the video... ClICK HERE  Viewer Discretion is Advised (Video is likely to be taken down because it violates YouTube's terms of service)

According to KFI 640, there are some people out there saying that the person at fault for the events is the victim, and that he had taken it too far.

In my opinion, the victim did nothing wrong at all. He was being picked on and he defended himself. After he knocked the bully to the ground, he didnt continue punching or kicking him; he just walked away. He did what he felt he had to do in order to defend himself.

More people now-a-days tell their children that violence is never an option, that the best thing to do is to tell an adult. I believe that a parent should give their children full permission to defend themselves. If a parent is constantly intervening, it can make bullying worse for the victim. It doesn't empower the victim, only the bully.

If a victim that is getting bullied fights back, bullies are less likely to come back to him/her because they know it isn't easy and really, ALL BULLIES ARE ACTUALLY COWARDS. They prey on others to hide their own insecurities.

So whatever happens to this student that defended himself, I say that I 100% support his actions and that more people need to step up.

COMMENT! What do you think? Did the victim take it too far or not far enough? Should he be punished with the bully or be allowed to continue school?

There's no controversy. At least there shouldn't be. He was obviously defending himself.
Any person in the world in his position would have done the same thing. He didn't know how to fight, but he was strong enough to pick up the other kid and throw him. Maybe he needs to be reprimanded, but not criminally punished.

What angers me are people who'd never been in a fight can easily say what they say that he could've controlled himself. He's a 12-year-old boy. He's probably never experienced anger or fear in his entire life. His instincts took over and he prevailed. If he's a good kid, he'll learn from the experience and it won't happen again.

End of discussion.
