At 2:26 a.m. local time, Japan experienced a 8.9 earthquake causing a massive tsunami with waves up to 13 feet high. ![]()
As of 4:23 a.m. local time, there are 398 reported dead and 805 reported missing.
There is debris pouring into Japan and wildfires are abundant. Nuclear reactors have been safely shut off and as of right now, there is no danger of nuclear waste or contamination.
