CHP Will Crack Down on Drunk Driving for the Holiday

KFBK - You don't need to have imbibed a lot, but just enough can get you busted.  Police are able to use their best discretion to see if a driver is unsafe behind the wheel even if they register under the legal limit.

CHP officer Heather Mangus says even if you don't drink a lot you can still be a danger on the road,
"Alcohol affects people differently, and if you're not one of those people that drinks alot and then goes out on an evening like tonight, you can still be under the influence even though you're not above that .08 limit," she said.
Mangus continued to say that if you are drinking, get a designated driver because you can be sure you'll see a lot more officers out on patrol than normal.

More than 300 people have already been arrested in the Sacramento region for DUIs during this holiday season.  The CHP and local law enforcement have teamed up for their Winter Holiday DUI crackdown.

Since the campaign started on December 13th, 361 people have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
