KFBK - Pictures taken of oneself, also known as "Selfies", are going to be more clearly defined under this new bill proposed by State Senator Anthony Cannella.
This bill is said to make it easier to prosecute individuals who post explicit pictures of someone online. Many Revenge Porn websites are set up so the poster can humiliate or harass the person in the picture, often times including the victims phone number, location and even a link to their Facebook profile.
California is the first state to create this kind of law. Senator Cannella says it wasn't his intention to set an example for other states. California is one of just two states with revenge-porn laws -- the other being New Jersey. Lawmakers in Florida, Maryland, Wisconsin and New York are also considering passing own version of the law.
