Jason Tennies Memorial Walk

Jason Tennies was 20 years old when he had a schizophrenic break on Sept. 20, 2010 at a Mt. San Antonio School parking lot. After his break, his parents say he was never the same again. His parents tried to get him help but the mental disorder was too much for Jason to handle. Five days after the break, he committed suicide.

Jason was a talented young man who was in a band and wrote many of the songs. His band placed in 2nd place in Mt. SAC's Battle of the Bands. He was accepted to San Francisco State but his dreams were stolen by an illness that no one saw coming.

His parents had a memorial walk in honor of their son and to bring awareness to mental disorders. According to The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, 1 in 4 people in the U.S. are affected by a mental disorder.
